Transfer Flow Introduces Breakthrough Retrofit Technology that Dramatically Reduces Diesel Engine Particulates at a Fraction of Engine Replacement Cost

Field and lab tests validate that innovative diesel particulate filter (DPF) system helps older diesel engines cost-effectively meet or exceed strict air quality regulations set for January 2011

Transfer Flow, Inc., a Chico, California-based fuel system manufacturer, will hold a launch event at their manufacturing facility on Thursday, Oct. 7 to introduce the company's breakthrough diesel particulate filter (DPF) system that has been proven to dramatically improve air quality performance of older Tier 0 stationary and portable engines at a fraction of the cost of engine replacement. Representatives from the board of supervisors, city council members from cities throughout the county as well as university and college representatives are expected to attend. Speakers will include, Erik Gustafson, City of Chico Fleet Manager, who has acquired a Transfer Flow DPF System for certain equipment owned by the City of Chico, and David Lusk Senior Air Quality Engineer, Butte County Air Quality Management Resources. The event will take place at Transfer Flow's manufacturing facility at 1444 Fortress Street in Chico at 11:00 a.m..

The Transfer Flow DPF system has been engineered to enable older diesel-powered equipment to meet California and Butte County's stringent Air Quality Management District (AQMD) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) emissions regulations by removing particulate matter--or soot--from the exhaust of a diesel engine. The solution will allow Tier 0 stationary and portable emissions engine owners-a group that includes municipalities, schools, farm owners and small and medium businesses-- to retrofit their existing equipment to comply with state and county regulations rather than expend the high cost of new equipment replacement. Retrofitting costs approximately 15 percent of the cost to replace most engines.

Transfer Flow's breakthrough diesel particulate filter is a win-win solution for California,” said Lisa Gaines Johnson, Transfer Flow's chief executive officer. “Since it will allow owners to retrofit rather than replace old diesel engines, it will accelerate adoption of air quality protections for our environment while also saving our cash-strapped cities, school districts and small and family businesses significant amounts of money. That means we get cleaner air faster, in a manner that doesn't imperil those hit hardest by this economic downturn. And, engine owners avoid the additional penalties, negative publicity and potential downtime caused by non-compliance with California's new air quality standards set to begin in January 2011.”

Recently the Transfer Flow technology underwent and passed rigorous “Method 5” testing that proved it has a certifiably-compliant solution. Transfer Flow's DPF system features patented silicone carbide filter media that captures more than 85 percent of expelled particulate matter. Transfer Flow's after-market solution can be quickly and easily installed with little operational downtime at roughly 15 percent the cost of a new engine. New diesel engines can cost between $40,000 and $60,000. Importantly, Transfer Flow's DPF filter is serviceable; the filter can be removed for cleaning, and reused, adding to the cost-effectiveness of the solution. Transfer Flow engineered its system to address the needs of the worst-case Tier 0 diesel engines, which produce over 6 times the particulate matter volume as compared to Tier 3 diesel engines. Transfer Flow's DPF solution has been successfully tested for durability, thermal cycling, and hot vibrations following strict OEM Automotive Standards.

More information about Transfer Flow's DPF solution can be attained by calling the company directly at (530) 893-5209 ext. 11. As part of its introductory campaign, the company will schedule a no-cost retrofit evaluation by one of its engineers.

TRANSFER FLOW INTRODUCES 50 GALLON MIDSHIP FUEL TANK FOR ’99-10 FORD F350, F450 AND F550 CHASSIS CAB MODELS

CHICO, CALIFORNIA: Transfer Flow, the leading manufacturer of aftermarket fuel tank systems, has introduced a
50-gallon midship diesel fuel tank system for 1999-2010 Ford F350, F450 and F550 chassis cabs with 120”, 108”, and 84” cab-axle lengths as well as some 60” cab-axle models. This fuel tank can replace the smaller stock midship tank, or be used as an auxiliary fuel system on chassis with an aft fuel tank. Manufactured from 12 and 14-gauge aluminized steel and powder coated black, this tank features baffles to further increase strength and to reduce fuel slosh. This tank system comes with new straps and all necessary mounting hardware, and auxiliary applications also include Transfer Flow’s patented TRAX-II operating system, which displays fuel volume and automatically transfers fuel between the two tanks. Transfer Flow Introduces 40-Gallon Fuel Tank & Toolbox Combo

(Chico, CA) Transfer Flow, Inc., a leading manufacturer of aftermarket fuel tank systems, has introduced a 40-gallon fuel tank and toolbox combo. With over 5 1/2 cubic feet of storage space, it's the all-in-one toolbox and auxiliary fuel tank combo for full-size short bed and long bed Dodge, Ford, and GM diesel pickups! And because the fuel fillneck is located inside the locking storage compartment, your fuel is kept safe and secure!

The toolbox tank is made from 14-gauge aluminized steel for superior strength and rust resistance. It's baffled in two places on all four sides, and is powder coated black for a durable finish. It's about flush with most bed rails so it shouldn't interfere with fifth wheel hitches.

The 40-gallon auxiliary tank operates with Transfer Flow's EXPRESS-UFS™ operating system, and comes pre-assembled with fuel lines, wire harness, mounting hardware, fuel pump, and computer module. The computer module will turn on the auxiliary pump when the fuel level of the OEM tank drops to approximately 1/2 full. The auxiliary tank will then transfer fuel into the main tank until the stock fuel gauge rises to about 3/4 full. When the fuel level of the OEM gauge drops below 3/8 of a tank, the auxiliary tank is out of fuel, and the OEM tank has 3/8 of a tank remaining. Because the transferring of fuel is automatic, there's no need for a toggle switch to flip back and forth between the two tanks!

For more information on Transfer Flow's 40-gallon fuel tank and toolbox combo, or for a copy of their Aftermarket Fuel Tank Systems catalog, call 1-800-442-0056, or visit their website at
